We understand the difference between PowerPoint slides and real hardware and have been building, testing and preparing for an operational micro satellite launcher for several years.
Jim Cantrell, CEO and Co-Founder
Jim Cantrell is a well known entrepreneur and expert in space systems and has 30 years of experience in the aerospace and high technology industries. Jim was part of the SpaceX founding team and served as the company’s first Vice President of Business Development. Jim founded two other successful aerospace and automotive engineering companies and has held CEO positions in aerospace and biometric software companies. Jim also played key roles in the development of Skybox Imaging (now Terra Bella) and has had developmental roles in numerous venture funded space efforts including Rocket Lab, Planet, Black Sky and Spaceflight.
John Garvey, CTO and Co-Founder
John is a 30 year space veteran who was deeply involved with the early development of SpaceX, has developed launch vehicles and launch operations for the McDonnell Douglas Delta III and Delta IV, the DCX-A single stage to orbit vehicle for BMDO, Sea Launch and micro satellite launch vehicles for Garvey Spacecraft Corporation. John has extensive experience in the development of propulsion systems and launch vehicles and has worked with AFRL, DARPA, NASA and numerous commercial space enterprises such as COSMOS-1 the world’s first solar sail.
Ken Sunshine, CFO and Co-Founder
Ken is senior executive with extensive expertise in strategic planning, financial analysis, raising capital, operations and project management for technology companies and has served as the CFO of Virgin Galactic and Moon Express as well as SVP Finance of Orbital Sciences. Ken has extensive capital markets experience including IPO’s, private placements, asset-backed debt, M&A and joint ventures.
Dr. Eric Besnard, VP Engineering and Co-Founder
Dr. Eric Besnard is a well-known expert in aerospace system design, rocket and spacecraft propulsion, and launch vehicles. He has been involved in liquid propulsion research and launch vehicle technology development funded by NASA, the Air Force, MDA including the development of innovative launch vehicle flights and technologies such as the first known aerospike and LOX/methane rocket engine flight tests. He also has extensive expertise in CubeSat, Nanosat and Microsat propulsion technology development.
Shaun B. Coleman, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer/GM Space Data Systems
Shaun Coleman is a Vector board member and Vector’s first investor. He is spearheading the GalacticSky division as General Manager of Space Data Systems, he also develops and implements all marketing and sales strategies as Vector’s Chief Sales and Marketing Officer. As an experienced entrepreneur and investor, Shaun brings more than 20 years of enterprise software, virtualization, computer networking, information security, sales and marketing expertise into the role. He leads a team of seasoned developers in the Silicon Valley who will build the next generation of software based space systems.
Dr. Darren Garber, Chief Scientist
Dr. Garber has over 20 years of experience in mission design, analysis, and operations with expertise in advanced navigation systems and exploiting new technologies for spaceflight. He has supported more than 40 missions spanning commercial, New Space, traditional aerospace, international and US Government programs to include NASA, DoD and DARPA. Dr. Garber leads Vector’s research and development team and oversees Vector’s integrated space mission architecture across launch vehicles, satellites, and payloads leveraging the GalacticSky infrastructure.
Alex Rodriguez, Vice President, Government & External Affairs
Alex Rodriguez leads Vector’s extensive relationships with international, national, state and local jurisdictions and spearheads the company’s growing external partnerships. An expert at the inter-section of business and government, Alex possesses over 20 years of industry and government expertise including Raytheon and the Office of the Secretary of Defense at the Pentagon. Alex served as an Army Captain in Bosnia where he helped implement the terms of the Dayton Peace Accords. He was elected to serve on the Governing Board of the Tucson Unified School District and most recently served as Vice President of the Arizona Technology Council where he helped advance the technology and innovation agenda for well over 800 technology businesses and organizations.
